The eagerly anticipated horse event of the year is nearly here! Well sort of, Equitana 2020 was scheduled for 22nd November 2020 however with COVID-19 the event has now moved to July 8th-11th 2021!
Regardless of the delay Equitana is still the most anticipated major equine event of the year. The fast paced four-day event included 25 competitions spanning across events including Dressage, Western and Jumping disciplines.
Located at the Melbourne Showgrounds all pre-purchased tickets will include FREE travel on public transport including trains, trams and buses in zone 1 & 2 for the day/s of the ticket. Ticket prices have yet to be released so stay tuned for updates!
About Competitions At Equitana
Equitana 2021 will host an array of professional level competitions including FEI CDI-W level Dressage and Grand Prix Show Jumping. And with over $80,000 in prize money it’s any wonder it’s a highly anticipated competition ground for professionals and spectators alike!
Competition categories include Arabians, Australian Stock Horse Challenge, Barrel Racing, Breed Lead Parade, Carriage Driving, Connexion Challenge, Dressage GP and Freestyle, Equitana Reining Masters, Express Eventing, Heavy Horse, Horse Ball, Jump and Drive, Minitana, Show Horse, ShowJumping Program, Sporting Horse Australia, The Liberty Championships and Working Equitation.
Our favourite is by far The Way of the Horse (TWOTH), arguably the most anticipated event of Equitana. It’s something special to watch three experienced trainers work with unhandled horses and demonstrate their techniques.

Want to be a better rider – get educated with Equitana 2021!
The four-day event is home to more than 70 educators who are available to help grow your passion, regardless of discipline or ability.
Topics covered include English and Western sports, equine health and care, natural therapies and horsemanship.
Looking to hone your horse-riding technique? Equitana offers the ability to learn from equine experts both international and local personalities during displays, seminars, questions and answer sessions and demonstrations.
Get coached on the on the fitness and health of your horse, from equipment fitting of bits and saddles to sessions about the construction of your equine business and facilities.
Education seminars aren’t just about your personal or business improvements they also cover the health of your horse including diet and digestive health connections. The affect of feed on performance, including nutritional information such as the plight of sugars and supplement advice. Hoof care function, treatment and preventative measures are also on offer.
Treatment and care sessions cover a variety of traditional and natural remedies including everything from First Aid for horses to pony pilates and horse yoga for the treatment of muscle aches and pains.

Probably the thing most ticket holders look forward to is the Equitana Sales. Shop till you drop with a massive 350 exhibitionists. You will find everything under one roof from brand spanning across horse gear, rider clothing equipment and feed, with its own shopping precinct.
Broken up into four main areas the Breed Village will house everything you need to know about various horse breeds and allows you to get up close and personal with breeders themselves.
The Art Precinct is where you’ll find that stunning wall piece to hang above the mantel. With over 200 meters of artwork on display you can purchase completed pieces or you can commission your own vision for your home, menage, tack room or stables.
The Indoor Precinct is where the rubber hits the road with items on sale from around the globe. Three hundred Australian businesses feature everything you could ever dream of – you’ll need four days to make your way through it all!
Looking for a new float? Then the Outdoor Precinct is for you. Hit the pavement and shop around the larger items on offer and see if a new pair of wheels tickles your fancy.
